But recently years ,the coconut activated carbon raw material , coconut shell and shell charcoal , price more and more higher ,from 2010 to now the price is rise twice ,from 250USD to 550USD per ton ,by FOB south east countries , like Indonesia ,Philippine ,Thailand ... but in the same time ,another type of activated carbon coal based activated carbon take more lower and middle market course it's lower price and big quantity .
So some one said coconut activated carbon is loosing it's market recently years . but the truth is no . now coconut activated carbon still have big percentage in market ,but the market is changed into more higher quality ,such like 1200mg/g -1500 mg/g iodine value . which CTC 60%-70% , can used for air pollution control .
Coconut shell based activated carbon with best hardness and 1000mg/g iodine value is also the best choice for gold mining market .
But coal based activated carbon only can do in 400-900mg/g iodine value and hardness not good .
The most important thing is the coconut activated carbon is more suitable for regeneration , but coal based can not ,or not worth to regeneration .
